Install it on the TV
Plug an inexpensive Android TV streamer into the television, install the Ateret Yosef app, and enter the synagogue ID. It usually takes under 15 minutes, with no technician.
What to bring
A TV with HDMI, an Android TV streamer or stick, and internet for the moment of installation. You do not need a computer left on, or a box sold only to synagogues.
The three steps
Connect the streamer and install the app from Google Play. Open it and type the synagogue ID, and the board appears. Then choose location, nusach and prayer times. From then on, updates happen from the phone.
Who updates it later
The gabbai, from any phone or computer, in the admin screen. A new message, memorial or lesson updates on the TV. Members can see the same information on a phone, with no account.
If something sticks
Most stops are a streamer with no internet at download time, or a synagogue ID typed with a space. After the board has come up once, a network drop does not turn the times off. If you need a hand, there is WhatsApp.
